Kasidie
Kasidie is a very nicely designed social community site for swingers. You have to join with a free account to access anything, but free accounts get quite a bit of access. You can set up a profile, and become "certified" without paying. Being certified involves proving that you're a real human, either by sending photo proof, or meeting another Kasidie certified user in person. You can search profiles, view profiles, view event listings, search for clubs by area, and so on. There are definitely areas that have a lot more areas than others - for example, my own area had only 4 other members close-by, but some areas have truly thriving communities here. Upgrading to paid membership mostly gets you contact benefits - the ability to email with other members, participate in forums and so on. The magazine portion of the site is definitely worth checking out as well, I found quite a bit of entertaining and well-written content there. Very nicely done! - Jane

Clean Sheets
CleanSheets.com has been online for over ten years, publishing oodles of sultry erotica, articles and reviews of adult media. What does this mean for you, the intrepid reader? It means that once you curl up in bed with laptop and wine, you'll have just an incredible number of works from which to choose. Perhaps some poetry? Or short fiction? Maybe a longer, serialized work? Or even multiple-person reviews of hot sex toys, movies and books? It's all here. Find works by noted erotica writers Gwen Masters, Bill Noble, Alessia Brio, Editor-in-Chief Susannah Indigo and many more. All work is conveniently organized and nicely illustrated. I didn't find any hardcore pictures but with words this scorching, it hardly matters. If the stories aren't enough, browse their Amazon book selections or sign up for their own personalized dating site. --aag

Girl Next Door Magazine
GND magazine is a glossy little site that mainly seems to promote other porn model sites. There are some okay articles, brief site reviews, and a slow forum section. The most interesting and entertaining thing on the site is the section featuring nice little interviews with the models. The navigation could use a little work, but on the whole it is a nice looking site. - Shay

Bizarre Magazine
Bizarre Magazine, based out of the UK, is one of the worlds largest alternative culture magazines. The web site features everything from weird news stories, interviews with alternative porn producers and stars and movie and game reviews, to photos of tattoos and body mods. Each week a new article is featured on a specific fetish; some of the past fetishes they've covered include kidnap fantasies, flogging, latex, and erotic hypnosis. There is also a column featuring advice from fetish model Bianco Beauchamp. For those of you interested in something more visual, you certainly won't be disappointed. Bizarre has a huge amount of photo and video content, including user submitted photos and links to photo galleries of the Bizarre cover girls. The site wasn't quite as Bizarre as I was expecting, especially in comparison to a site like BMEzine, but it was still very entertaining. Best of all - the website is free! The site is fairly ad heavy, which is to be expected from this kind of site, but I didn't find it distracted from my enjoyment of the material at all. To get the full meal deal, surfers have the option of purchasing a one or two year subscription to the print version of the magazine. You can order the magazine pretty much world wide, but the special offers are not available to overseas customers. Very good site, and worth a look for those interested in the unusual. - Wolfe

Sssh - A smart and sexy erotic journal
Sssh.com is a site produced by women and geared toward women. It is chock-full of content. Seriously. It would take days to work your way through all the content on this site. Let me sum it up for you. Sssh.com has photo galleries, movies, audio files, columns, horoscopes, sex ed material, comics, chats, personals, games, shopping...see what I mean? There's just tons of stuff here. I liked the tease of the sexy audio files, and the image galleries were well done if fairly soft-core. Some of the content, however, is really not all that great. The personals, for example, seem to be pretty dead, and some of the advice and sex ed materials are poorly edited. Nevertheless, this is a nice site for women looking for a one-stop site that will meet many if not all of their online sexual needs. - AAG

Playful Bent
PlayfulBent.com is a site with an interesting premise: Friendly adults can create free profiles, then "flirt" with other like-minded adults. Members can create their own blogs, large image galleries, and chat groups. The site accepts members from around the world, but at the moment there seem to be a heavy concentration of users from the Australia/New Zealand areas. One cool feature of the site is that as you interact more with another user, you'll earn a higher score with that person, so that the two of you will be able to take advantage of even more functions of the site. The site also allows members to submit dares to other members; the dares range from things like very mild private nudity to wild and crazy public high jinks. An fun alternative to the standard adult dating sites. - AAG

Oysters & Chocolate erotic.
This webzine is a real pleasure to call to your attention. It is a female focused sex positive site that features original erotica categorized as Vanilla (straight up old fashioned sex), Licorice Whips (BDSM), Dirty Martini (voyeurism, fetish, and group), and All About Oysters (lesbian sex). I didn't read everything, but it seems like the general tone is going to appeal most to the sophisticated reader of literary smut. In addition to the sexy tales you'll find here, there are two advice columns. One is called "Ask Jordon" and is written from the female perspective. One is called "The Book of Joe" and answers questions from a man's point of view. There is also a neat section that prints honest product and book reviews. It is always great to find another real review site in a sea of frauds! There is a cute "Sexoscope" section that provides your sexual horoscope, erotic poetry, and even some original artwork. It appears they have a neat little community going on over there in the forums, and they are actively seeking writers and artists for paid work. This is a great destination for anyone who likes the fine art of erotic writing. There is a small adult store attached to the site. - Vamp

Altporn.net
This is a blog/portal that covers the "altporn" genre. It features profiles on models, artists, photographers, and more. It also has some pretty nifty reviews of their work. I noticed that most of the time the entries have a humorous edge, which was actually pretty darn amusing. I found industry, fashion, and art links here that I was genuinely interested in and followed. In addition to this, it has a link list that is actually worth your time and has some of the best subculture erotica listed in it. I'd say that if you are into this kind of thing, you should bookmark this site for good leads. » More Info!

Feral Sex Kitten
The free online sex/art project of Melissa Ulto, FSK is a collection of self-portraits, writing, and exhibits of other artists and photographers. You need both Flash and Quicktime plugins to properly view the site, as each section is presented in a Flash-based slideshow format. She has galleries of several artists (a couple of them longtime favorites of mine, but one I'd not seen before), a slideshow set to sexy music featuring DJCat, and a weblog with a focus on burlesque. Very fun non-commercial site, I have to love anyone who has Kirsty McColl's "In These Shoes?" playing during the intro. » More Info!

Bare Back Magazine
This is a brand new erotic magazine that features stories, poems, art, and more. At the moment you'll find around 8 fictional stories, 9 poems, a diary style erotic story, and a small selection of articles. If you are really paying attention, you'll find the art gallery. There are quite a few ads on this site. At least one of the ads was for one of those desktop girls, which often are a real pain to get off your computer once you download them. I think the place needs some real help with organization and such, but the writing is interesting and original. Just stay on the path and you'll be fine. » More Info!

4 Hour Hard On
This blog has quite the eclectic mix of erotica, poetry, interviews and journal entries. In my short visit, I read some truly disturbing non-erotic fiction ("Caesaren, by Leigh Hughes), a couple of poems, an erotic flash fiction piece and a reprint of a John Lennon interview. The editor here says they are host to an annual erotic flash fiction contest, but it would be helpful if the blog had an archive of posts by category so such info could be easily found. At any rate, an interesting mix of topics.

Art of Love
Hans Frontosa has put together a really interesting and engaging site on erotic art that tantalizes the reader without overloading them. Too often, people become intimidated when discussing fine art. Hans avoids pretension and delivers very personal and down to earth descriptions of various artist's work, and he puts well established fine art (like nude photography) right next to lesser appreciated artforms like erotic video games. He also has a links section that is a great leaping off point for surfers. Recommended. I know I'll be back! I found the site both erotic and educational. - Vamp » More Info!

Nightcharm
This site is a perfect example that it is indeed possible to do a hardcore site in a fun, quirky, I'd even go so far as to say "tasteful" way. Nightcharm is a gay male site that appeals to a broader audience. It was time for a re-review, because since it's inception a couple years ago, it's grown immensely. The original was a free zine - and that still exists, there is free content in spades. Free galleries of the softer stuff, amateur spreads with bios and email links, plus the glossier pro shots. In features you'll find such things as behind-the-scenes peeks at the porn industry, a tribute to Dusty Springfield, and other book and movie reviews. Art&Spirit is a series of articles exploring gay male tantra. In Favorites, don't miss the Gloryhole Fever section - a peek into the practice, with spicy reader confessions. The very new Inner Circle (4 months old at time of this writing) has much more extensive eye candy, and lots more words too. From original photo layouts of Seattle men, shot by webmaster David K, to a look back at 70's and 80's porn (wow, check out the tube socks! soooo 70's.) there's something for everyone. You can also voy on the CorkyCam, an Arizona exhibitionist (and star of some Titan Porn vids), and wander through an illustrated history of sexually explicit art/drawings. The great design remains consistent throughout the member area, a nice perk when not everyone pays that much attention to detail. The payment options for the Inner Circle are numerous - instant credit card access for $9.95/week recurring or $19.95/month recurring - or payment by online check. Also, a PayPal option which is $16.95/month NON recurring.

Hoot Island
Hoot Island's tag line is "silly sex for silly people" and the wonderful Chris Bridges has delivered on that for as long as JanesGuide has been online, so it was about time to write up a re-review. Unfortunately, yet understandably, the photo section is pulled because of the new 2257 laws, but MOST of the content was never about photos so we'll live. The "words" section (type dirty to me) has such fun things as the "victorian sex cry generator" for the next time you need something unique to yell out mid-coitus. You'll find a plethora of funny articles, from "101 Reasons to Masturbate" to "Make Mine Vanilla" (a guide to Missionary position sex). You'll find tons of essays, original erotic fiction with a funny twist, and don't forget to check out the "goofy shit" section.

Tara Tainton, erotica writer
It is not often that I am caught off guard by the disclaimer section of a web page. My first introduction to Tara was on the splash screen, and it did just that! The agreements are phrased in the positive, not the negative, and set the tone for what is to follow. This e-zine is divided into (admittedly annoyingly alliteratively addressed) sections, including a blog of Tara’s current thoughts and activities, advice to writers and readers, and many, many links to other web sites to purchase related materials. It is advertising heavy in that sense, but somehow it all seems to work together. There are a few photos, a little bit of her writing, and a lot of Tara’s opinions about life, freedom, and expression. The whole is liberally sprinkled with quotations from Anais Nin, Susie Bright, and other masters in the field of erotica. This reads like a magazine, a sampler of what is available. It is well written and well put together all around, and very enjoyable.

The Sex Herald
This is a slick e-zine! It is true that some of the articles are bland, heterofocused, or do not contain substantially new information. However, most are informative, interesting, and diverse. It is not perfect, but the format is clear, the layout intuitive, and the content extensive! I especially liked the purity tests and the aphrodisiac soup recipes. The advice column is rather insipid, but that is balanced by the well written and insightful reviews of books, movies, and products. One thing I did notice was that even when giving a rating like 2 stars (out of 5), the reviews emphasize the positive aspects of the product, toning down the negatives. Most products have a link to a web site for purchase, but it seems to simply be a referral rather than an integral part of the Sex Herald. They do have a small product area of their own - mostly T-shirts and the like. The direct-order items are secure. There is far more to read here than one could devour in a single sitting, and I highly recommend it as a source of information and entertainment.

Figleaf's Real Adult Sex
I think I have spent a good couple of hours perusing this site. If you are searching for a quick sexual arousal fix, look elsewhere. This site is chockful of many complex, varied, and interesting commentaries on sexuality, relationships, philosophy and so on and so forth. And despite all the amazing stuff I read, what do I remember most? A very complete and amusing journal entry on how to make a mold of an erect penis. It's quite a process! I also loved the post from Alyssa De Jour on penis size. Figleaf does a phenomenal job of finding, reviewing and giving his perspective on really excellent material. Of course he also provides links to other great personal sites and blogs. There are a few photos of the author in a kilt- which I might add are not too shabby!

ZNights
This is a great alternative lifestyles community site for South Africa (and a few other surrounding places). You can sign up for free to take a look around, but full access to all site features requires a subscription. You can create a profile, post photo albums, create a blog, write classified ads, chat online with other folks, or search profiles for specific interests. In addition to this, you'll find there are quite a few galleries of erotic photographs and artwork that are available to subscribers. It appears that the site is very pansexual, so no matter what your gender or preference you'll find a category that suits you. A neat community calendar keeps you abreast of local events as well. Well put together, sex positive, and a neat resource! Great little educational essays as well.

Ruthies Club
This site is a literary porn fancier’s wet dream. The free section is a tiny sample of what they have; one sample story and a couple of free extras. What do they have to offer members? New stories - at least five of them – every week, in addition to bonus stories, illustrations, jokes, and assorted other treats. This week’s Club Cocktail was accompanied by a short-short piece about sex at amusement parks. How can you not love that? No advertising at all, and a well maintained web site that is easy to navigate and very clearly laid out – what more could you ask? The fiction is all well written, high quality, with a focus on plot over “stroke” materiel. Their submission guidelines are clear, and they are happy to accept work from new authors. There are galleries of past illustrations, a forum and discussion page, and more fiction in the archives. I cannot heap enough glowing praise on this web site. You really have to join to appreciate it. If you like the written word, if you appreciate the nuances of well written erotica versus simply hot porn, you will quickly make this site your favorite, too.

99 Erotic Notions
This has to be one of the more unusual serial erotic fiction offerings that I've come across. The author, Hapax Legomenon, is launching a writing project that will end around 2012! Each month a story is added, although not always in sequence. The basic story arch involves a young man writing about erotic fantasies to a woman named Lisa. He and Lisa are not involved, but she is reading his fantasies due to a deal that they struck one day after having an argument about privacy and fantasy. The stories tend to be cerebral stand alone meditations upon the erotic, or silly vignettes. They are not explicit in the least. I think that these stories will be most popular with those who enjoy literary titillation served up with intellectual debate. Some female authors are beginning to answer his writing by crafting stories from the perspective of Lisa. These pieces are under "Unbuttoned Tales", and are a special treat! Even if the stories aren't your thing, I believe you'd enjoy the thought provoking essay "Pleasure Manifesto" which is found at the bottom of the list of 99 erotic notions. » More Info!
