This just-launched website started in January 2010, with a well-known slate of writers contributing articles. The site specifically focuses on sex education and advice for committed, heterosexual couples. You won't find anything especially ground-breaking here, nor is it related in a particularly entertaining manner. The site appears to mostly be a vehicle for promoting a contraceptive film birth control product, made more obvious by the fact that the associated Twitter and Facebook accounts are named "birthcontroloptions". In short, you won't find any sex advice here that will hurt you, but it's a big yawn.

If you're a fan of smarmy misogynistic crap about how to score with women, bookmark Exxxpect.com, which features articles (and ads, lots of ads) geared toward a certain horny-yet-largely-inexperienced segment of the male population. A self-respecting woman would rather spend an evening with House and a good dual-action vibe than devote a minute of her time to a man trying any of these techniques. Would you like examples? One article suggests hitting on fat, ugly women as a way to get into the pants of their hot friends (the attractive ones will feel jealous, natch; the "desperate" ones will be more than grateful for the attention if this doesn't work). In an post about why dudes should enlist the help of a friend when out at the clubs, the author says a wing man can "help spread out the pack...if you approach two women he can help isolate the one you’re picking up by taking her friend to the side." And what does the antelope have to look forward to after having been culled from the herd? Oral sex, performed reluctantly: "I think we can all agree that we dread having to go down on a girl," says the writer, who in another post on cunnilingus calls women "the enemy." I found nothing on the site that wasn't gross, poorly written and drenched in advertisements. Let's hope the site owners grow up someday soon, shall we? --aag

Another sex blogger cum sexuality educator (or is it the other way around) has stepped into the limelight of the interwebs. Raise the curtain; Garnet of AskGarnet has made her grand entrance. Actually, she's been around since 2007, but she's really become more active in the blogosphere in the last few months. With a basic, simple and clean site, it's a bit of a relief in the word of snowflake falling, music playing sex bloggers. The sidebar offers the standard blogroll and affiliate links, but also sexuality resources, and links to sex-positive porn. Content wise, it (like most sex blogs) contains a mix of link lists, sex toy reviews, and thoughtful content. As an added bonus, she also puts forth some sexpert style Q and A, answering (with good information) a few questions put forth to her. I do wish that she would post more often (only 8 posts for all of December), and that there were most posts that weren't reviews. I like her voice and thoughts a lot, and would definitely like to read more. - EssinEm

The best way to learn is to do. Barring that, it's nice to *watch* someone do what you can't. EducationalSexSeries.com aims to bring instruction right into the homes of interested parties. Topics online now include rope play, analingus, threesomes, sex toys and the like. New topics are added monthly. Watch the videos online or download them in AVI format. Unfortunately, the first video I watched was marred by absolutely atrocious sound. An odd screech in the background gave me an instant headache--and continued throughout the entire hour-plus of instruction. Others were more bearable as well as informative. They're all quite long and thorough. Have a question? You can ask it of anyone in Educational Sex Series' panel of 18 experts. I wish mini-biographies were provided for these experts so I'd have an idea of their credentials and specialties. I also found that the entire "definitions" section was inaccessible (a "\" was substituted in the URL where a "/" should have been) and a video that wasn't working. Members get half off any hard copies they'd like to order. There's a week-long trial for $9.95. It recurs at the regular rate unless it's canceled in advance. Bottom line: There are other sites promising educational videos similar to the selection found here but with better quality all the way around. Until EducationalSexSeries.com fixes the problems mentioned above, I wouldn't pay $30 a month for it. --aag

This site just went through a major renovation and I've got to say, it looks awesome. Awesome design means little without great content but never fear, you'll find plenty of that on TheBeautifulKind.com. This kinky mom from the St. Louis area writes about her love life, offers up advice to those with sexuality questions and interviews others who are "the beautiful kind." I love the fact that TBK includes points of view from so many others in her work. If she's not personally experienced anal fisting (for example) she'll publish information from someone who has -- and if the chemistry is right, she might even try her hand at the new activity with the person who educated her. You can also ask her advice on the perennial question "Why am I not getting laid," read sex toy and book reviews, and explore "My First" narratives from TBK's readers. If you're in the area you can hire TBK for seminars or private coaching; contact her online if you'd like to employ her from a distance. The Beautiful Kind can be viewed in a work-safe version perfect for on-the-clock surfing. This is a brilliant feature more adult sites should employ. --aag

Take a moment and imagine a leather Facebook or Myspace, and then imagine it being run by and for kinky folks. That is exactly what Fetlife is! It is the coolest new community site out there for pervs, and it is absolutely 100% free. I had been hearing the buzz about this new spot on the web from a few of my lifestyle friends, and I finally decided to go set up an account and take a look myself. Many years ago I had been on other sites that promised community and allowed free communication, but since those sites have sold to other companies their soul has left the building and communication costs money. It is also communication that is no longer under the nurturing ownership of perverts with a personal interest in our tribe. I'd lost interest, and so had most of my friends. I was hoping that this site could be some of what I was missing on the old ones. Wow, I wasn't disappointed! I immediately ran into some of my old friends, and then ran off to recruit new ones. It is easy to sign up. Once you have, then you set up a profile. You can add pics to it, and you'll never run into that "you have to have such and such membership" to view pics or show them to others. There are social groups here with ongoing forum conversations, so you can sign up for topics that interest you (or create your own groups). There is a mail system that acts like a personal bulletin board for private conversations, so you don't lose track of what has been said to anyone. You can post writing, see what your friends are doing, and a lot more. A lot of talented pervs are posting writing and engaging in conversation here. I've met a lot of new friends. There is a small amount of advertising, but it is done really tastefully and never gets in the way. You can write to the folks that run the site, and they will actually write you back. I've been in love with this place and raving about it for the last several weeks. This is one of the few sites that didn't ask for review. I sought out the owner and asked him if I could post one. This is a sassy and informative little site by Megan Andelloux, a certified sex educator. Megan offers workshops, menarche parties, sex coaching, and phone consultations for a fee. There is also a lot of free content, like a guide to purchasing sex toys and a video about how to tell if a woman is faking orgasm. There are lots of links to sex positive resources and free podcasts as well. I particularly liked the section of her site devoted to explaining how to become a sex educator yourself! The layout is nice, but the new SugarTiger.com is unfortunately lacking in members at the moment. The site features chat rooms which were utterly empty both times I visited. The forums were similarly quiet; only a couple dozen posts had been made at the time of this writing. Categories were in place both in the chat rooms and forums for discussions on general sexuality, hook-ups, fantasies and the like. It's too bad that the only sound came from the tumbleweeds blowing through. Rounding out the site is an empty FAQ page and a handful of tired sexuality articles which have been published and published again across the web. Your site looks really nice, SugarTiger.com webmaster, but you're going to have to do some more work to encourage members to join. --aag

You can't swing a cat on the internet without hitting a half-dozen blogs written by self-described "sexperts." Most of these are heavy on advice about sucking cough drops while giving head (been there), pretending to be strangers while meeting at a bar (done that) or taking anal sex slowly (yawn). In contrast, Pillow Talk with a Sassy Sexpert offers posts dealing more with the emotional and practical aspects of sex. In her year-deep archives, you'll find the Sassy Sexpert's advice on dealing with the struggles of long-distance relationships, thoughts on becoming comfortable with her own body, and some potential pitfalls pillow-fuckery. The Sassy Sexpert also provides extensive suggested play-lists for all kinds of sexual encounters. She suggests some Rammstein for your rough sex, or the Ying Yang Twins for the times you want it raunchy. Nice work, Sassy Sexpert. I will definitely be back to read more. --aag

She then goes on to explain the answer, which in this case is definitely yes. She tends to reply in very frank, humorous, and informative ways. I normally wouldn't review a blog that was this new, but this one is so unusual that I just couldn't help myself. It is written by an "Orgy Planner" in the UK, and it gives practical and helpful advice to those interested in planning their own orgy party. There are only a few short essays at the moment, but they all contain pretty good information. An example of what you'll find here is, "Put your TV in the cupboard. Better still, drape a dry towel over the front and position it to be facing the wall, with a cushion gently placed against the screen to prevent it being jarred or knocked. This is a very fun site that is all about the penis. It has a penis survey that asks about length, width, circumference, circumcision, and growing vs showing. It is interesting to see that the survey currently is very close to the information that is often reported through more mainstream and academic sources. In addition to that, they offer a Dicktionary (penis synonym database) and several penis quizzes. It is a bit educational, but mostly just a fun time. This website's main focus in on self-bondage. It uses a wiki based database to organize bondage information including safety, general toys, personal introductions of members, nature based toys, stories, and personal experiences. Membership is free, and after you become a registered user you can submit info to the site. The content is a bit on the light side right now, but I'm sure it will grow with time. On a personal note, I highly recommend that anyone considering solo bondage do extensive research beyond this site before attempting it. I once found myself in solo bondage tied to a bookcase during a power outage, and it was a very good thing that I had a nearby flashlight and some bandage scissors to get myself out of the situation. Proper safety procedures can make a potentially deadly situation into nothing more than a funny anecdote. - Vamp

Hmmmm.....The Esybron Institute claims to be a division of Mills Grae University, and it specializes in the sexuality of women. Well, I did a bit of research about that. So far I've found that Mills Grae University is non-accredited, and it doesn't even mention this Institute. As if that isn't bad enough, they solicit donations and participation in a research project on this site. There are a few essays on sexuality here, many of them with a tone that is somewhat spiritual in nature. Maybe these folks are on the up and up, but they are doing a great impression of a bunch of scam artists. - Vamp

We used to get a lot more of these types of sites, and I miss them. This is one of those home grown personal websites that used to rule the web, before the blog explosion. It is written by Seeker's breath{MS}, and you can tell that she found the graphics and designed the place herself. It is full of articles she has written, resources she values, and a lot of personal opinion about D/s relationships. There are links to a myspace page and blog as well. In her mission statement she says, "Please, do not confuse BDSM with D/s. Even though D/s is a part of the three facets in BDSM it is not a fetish, it is a natural way of life." Her approach is very romantic, and she discusses ideas as diverse as the concept of a soul mate and meditation. I really love this sort of thing, even when I have a different take on some of it at times. This is when the web shines for me, when someone taps out their thoughts on a home computer and places a bit of themselves on the internet. That is what I was doing when Jane found me! Sex Positive Feminism. What does that mean? Wow! If you want behind the scenes information on fine art nude photography, I think that this may be your dream come true. David Weisenbarger has put together a growing online exhibit of female nudes, and all of them are respectful and celebrate the artform. He has well over 60 different sessions online, each of which show all the shots from the session in sizes that range from small (800 pixels) to extra large (3500-5000 pixels). You can download the sets as zip files, or view them one by one on the site. The models are very young and petite women, mostly from the Ukraine and Armenia. One of the site's main models is actually the photographer's wife, and all of the models seem to be active community members of the site. You can leave comments on individual sets, messages for the models, discuss things in the forum with David, watch video interviews with the talent, or even go and read an indepth lesson on the photographic skills and equipment used to produce the set! I read over some of the lessons, and they are particularly good at discussing lighting and depth of field issues. If you are a photographer or model, you can submit some of your own work in the member forum for comment and discussion. I was curious about another minor feature of the site as well, the owners used to run a humanitarian mission to orphanages in the Ukraine. Now, they have created a David-Nudes Charity that gives 10% of the membership fee to kids in the Ukraine and surrounding Eastern European countries. Neat! This blog is associated with Lady Jaided magazine and the full title of it is "Lady Jaided's Sex Talk for Wicked Women: Conversations with Women Who Refuse to Behave." Well, what is not to love about that? This blog discusses everything from the texture of semen to female sexual health issues and gender roles around the world.
