This is Asia Carrera's private site for talking about porn, the industry, her career, her life. Online since 1996, I recently revisited and was sooo happy to see that it's going as strong as ever - although now she's talking about being a new mommy in her journal, instead of her latest porn shoot. Of course one of the things I have always loved about Asia Carrera is how she's not afraid of being multidimensional, and doesn't need to keep her porn persona 24/7. If you've ever wondered who becomes a porn star, this is one eye opening site. Asia does this entire site herself, with pictures you won't find elsewhere (including bloopers), a great FAQ answering questions about the porn industry, and a really good bio about herself that really shoots down some common stereotypes of the people in the adult film business. Hoot Island's tag line is "silly sex for silly people" and the wonderful Chris Bridges has delivered on that for as long as JanesGuide has been online, so it was about time to write up a re-review. Unfortunately, yet understandably, the photo section is pulled because of the new 2257 laws, but MOST of the content was never about photos so we'll live. The "words" section (type dirty to me) has such fun things as the "victorian sex cry generator" for the next time you need something unique to yell out mid-coitus. I'm in love! Tatiana von Tauber is an intelligent sex positive feminist with a great spiritual and international depth that shines through her writing and art work. She is so multitalented! There is a beautiful array of watercolors, oils, pastels, and charcoal work on the site (some of which has sort of an art deco feel to me, while other pieces have a much more impressionistic style). A neat selection of photographs (that unfortunately don't enlarge) really took my breath away. She has a great instinct for how to use light/shadow to accentuate form. I have to admit that it was her writing that really grabbed me by the soul and tugged though. Her erotica is hot and honest. Her essays are spiritually deep and passionate discussions of her complex feelings. Her book reviews are charming and helpful. Her links section is actually very interesting, and highly recommended as a jumping off point to many sites of note. I love seeing sites just like these. She fearlessly represents her entire self on the site, while never flinching away from her sexuality. Excellent! Sites like this clearly show that female sexuality is most beautiful when it isn‘t dumbed down.

It is not often that I am caught off guard by the disclaimer section of a web page. My first introduction to Tara was on the splash screen, and it did just that! The agreements are phrased in the positive, not the negative, and set the tone for what is to follow. This e-zine is divided into (admittedly annoyingly alliteratively addressed) sections, including a blog of Tara’s current thoughts and activities, advice to writers and readers, and many, many links to other web sites to purchase related materials. It is advertising heavy in that sense, but somehow it all seems to work together. There are a few photos, a little bit of her writing, and a lot of Tara’s opinions about life, freedom, and expression. The whole is liberally sprinkled with quotations from Anais Nin, Susie Bright, and other masters in the field of erotica. This reads like a magazine, a sampler of what is available. It is well written and well put together all around, and very enjoyable.

Back in 2001, Peter reviewed this site. He noted that she wrote from"...a unique woman's point of view." He further mentioned that "November has several categories of writing - her own sexual confessions, erotic stories, X-Files fanfic....Much of this is quite well written and all I read was enjoyable." I went back to review the new version of the site and found that, if anything, it is better and more vibrant. The fanfic is decently written and really explores characters from an emotional, as well as a sexual, viewpoint. Her stories tend towards Male/Female interaction, although I have to mention Arcadia as one of my personal favorites, with Male/Male and some strong SM undertones along with the woman's perspective. This site is a sex-positive, feminist, and out and out hot porn site and hip online webzine aimed at heterosexual women. Inside it you'll find well over 60 pieces of erotic fiction, a cornucopia of women's health and sexuality articles and advice columns, reviews (mainstream movies, adult films, TV, books, sex toys, and "women's products"), four subscriptions to other online ezines (Daily Stories, Sex Positions, Kama Sutra, and Tantra magazine), and a very intelligent and interesting daily blog by the woman who runs the site. That just covers the written material, and I'm sure that I'm leaving a few things out by accident! I'm always happy to review something that is sex positive, has a sense of humor, and addresses a woman's pleasure. This site managed to be all three of these things. It has over 50 galleries with the theme of cunnilingus. Most of the pics are of male-female oral sex, but there are a few lesbian pics that follow the theme as well. I love how the site owner has fun with details, such as bad mullet hair on an otherwise attractive guy or the very 80's pink shoes on one of the models. In addition to the pictures, there are almost a dozen original erotic stories and quite a few articles on oral sex. If you like jokes, quotes, and that sort of thing there is plenty here as well. One of my favorite things was the "Choose Your Own Sex Adventure" story, that was entirely clever. There is some advertisement inside, but I think that it actually is a service rather than what you normally find (and they are text links rather than pop ups). It points to books, tapes, and adult toys to improve oral sex. My only caveat would be to read over the TOS of the AVS, since I am not familiar enough with this service (and the folks behind it) to have an opinion yet. This is a really fun text based site with lots of free erotic stories sorted into categories such as straight, lesbian and bi, submission and domination, group, and taboo. (Taboo in this case involves things like fisting and voyeurism, and stays far away from stories of a non consensual nature.) There is a cool "teaser" section that has short little vignettes for when you need that quick shot of smut to take you over the top. Sex news, information, and book reviews round out the site and UK humor abounds so the articles do not feel like heavy reading. My favorite section of the site is "Sex Hell". It includes real stories of sex that didn't go off well. I've been in a poor mood, but I snorted diet drink out my nose when I read "There he was, in all his naked glory. As CAKE would have it, they are "the first company to create a brand for young, heterosexual women that represents a contemporary female sexual lifestyle." Translated that means that they have created an online magazine that targets young het women and intellectually approaches their sexuality a bit more directly than the mainstream newstand magazines. I checked out the feature section, and the current article on the AVN awards is pretty darn cool! It has video clips of some of the stars doing interviews that you just shouldn't miss. It has some other articles and political info that center around "women's issues" and sexuality too. I could feel my ovaries throbbin', I tell ya. Aside from the articles, there is a free section with stories that readers have sent in, and it appears some of the readers can write a hot story. They sell CAKE cards on the site for $50 that are supposed to get you into future exclusive CAKE parties in NY, but I don't know what they do for you at the moment other than make you eligible for "special promotions". Melinda Gallagher's writing seems to drive the site. It is definitely worth a visit when you are in the mood to celebrate your womanhood by listening to interviews or articles about RU-486. Totally new online 'zine of sex/relationship advice for women. There were several articles in this issue, as well as a poll for your top ten fantasies, and an erotic story. I found some of the advice sort of outdated. For example: the article in sex files about the "secret" of male masturbation.
