This Canadian site is a new effort, just opening over the past few months. From all I can see here it will be a very popular addition to the adult net. It isn't aimed at the guys who drool over the stereotypical Two-Hot-Bi-Babes [tm], but rather this is aimed at dykes who like to look at all original films of other dykes just like themselves getting off on really hot queer sex. You won't find two otherwise straight girls with plastic boobs here faking touching each other. You will find, as the name says, Good Dyke Porn. Fisting, fucking, blowjobs of strap-on's and similar. To make certain that I wasn't stumbling over my Y chromosome I got a consulting opinion from a good friend who is quite attuned to women-loving-women, and her comments on what I showed her were, "Oh, that's hot... oh, she's cute... yeah, that's hot!" Membership has interesting options. Regular membership is twenty bucks a month, first month, rebilling at eighteen bucks. The site encourages folks who want to support them getting the three-month option. There is also an option for four bucks with limited access - the Cheap Dyke Porn option. Films will be updated twice a week for members, with once weekly updates for the cheap seats. Now, to view the films you have two options. One is a pop-up window to view online and the other is to download in QT format. I had to update my QT viewer to see the downloads, but I was overdue for that and it wasn't the site's fault. This blog site is perfectly charming. What an enjoyable time I had here. Your hostess, and the site, is named Silent Porn Star - with no doubt interesting and untold stories behind the name. The focus here is in curating - and celebrating - sexual iconography. I browsed the site's last couple of years of archives, hip hopping over such delights as old pulp fiction cover art, black & white vintage photography, occasional contemporary censorship issues, and even - to my delight - a link to a YouTube clip of Cher and Raquel Welch, all glitter-glamoured up in their prime and glory, singing Peggy Lee's "I'm A Woman". From one of the longest-running networks online, ATK, comes this quality site. They feature beautiful women of color here. Black, Latina, Island Girls, Mediterranean, Asian, Indian... the selection is actually much broader than this short list. Out front there are a couple dozen enlargeable samples, and they offer a free site with an additional 70+ to entice you to join their member's site. Inside the member's area they have galleries, both hardcore and softcore, video clips, quite a few fetishes represented, and - this is impressive - currently there are 2,700 models with 950,000 pictures on the site, as well as 950 movie clips. Wow - this is my new favorite site! xNovel is an ever-growing archive of the golden age of pulp novels. The stuff that I hid in the coal bin or under my mattress during my formative years. This site is all free, making it a labor of love for the owner. Those dirty paperback books - from now-defunct publishing houses - from the 60's to the 80's are captured here in full. In many cases this is even including the original cover art. You can read it online or you can download in zipped text files to enjoy at your leisure. At time of review they have over 700 titles, searchable by author, by series, and so forth. They actively solicit help from folks of similar tastes to obtain, proofread, scan, and otherwise help in adding to the collection. Their links page is a great list of similarly minded sites. This is one of those finds which is simply an honest pleasure, sufficient to brighten a day by itself. All too often on the net we find "lesbian" smut which is created by and for frat boys. Often the artificial-appearing women in that stuff don't really care for sex with other women, but are just punching a time card, and obviously so. It's beyond sad. That is NOT at all what you find here. Sapphos Girls is part of the cyber-dyke network, which is all by women, for women, and just absolutely full of beautiful women. [Members will have access to other sites in the same network.] There are many samples on the front end to make your membership decision with - they are quite representative of what is inside. Inside, you will find gallery after gallery of either still image or video clip. The content is of either solo women, coupled women, or groups of women. Trust me - they all look like they like what they're doing a lot. A whole lot. Now, this content may or may not appeal to the average guy out there, and that's OK. I know it'll appeal to the women-who-like-women out there. I'm a queer fellow with a lot of dyke friends, and to me it looked like family night at the local club. The photos and film are done well and are available in good quality. There is a new blog, authored by Chelsea Girl [the author of the sex blog Pretty Dumb Things and winner of the 2007 Best Female Sex Blog Award], although navigation to the blog isn't clear at first. It's worth looking for, as she is an excellent writer. That was consistent throughout Sappho Girls, by the way - tantalizing writing that sucked you in, pardon the expression. Little comments like: "...When we found out she loves Foucault as much as fucking, we had to have her...a girl and her butch lover - just hard sex on a hardwood floor...Fishnet-covered fingers in the most delicate places..." and more. I reviewed Simon a couple of years ago when they had 40 models and said that they would be growing and becoming one of the Big Kids in the business. I apologize for the understatement - I just went in to re-review, and their model page has 225 entries. Not that many images - that many models! A handful of those are girl/girl combinations of two other models listed, but even so, that is a seriously large body of beauty. They promise and deliver new content five days a week. Visitors have a wonderfully generous tour to acquaint them with representative content. The content is generally nude, jilling, some anal jilling, and some girl/girl. I looked at a lot of the content, and didn't see a bit of silicone anywhere. As I mentioned in their original review in 2001, the individual girls or girl/girl pairs have anywhere from 2 to half a dozen galleries, and each gallery can be downloaded by zip. Many of them have videos available, and the clips are often offered for download in AVI, MPG, or WMV formats. They have wallpaper, and quite a bit more you can find poking around. And get this - this is all original work, folks. This is one man's serious devotion to beauty. The work is all quality, very good quality. Membership is unique also - $24.95 per month, after 3 months rebills drop to $19.95, if you stay 6 months they reduce still further to just $14.95 per month. And if you join - you will stick around. "I like it rough. You like to watch." What a great catchphrase. This website is the latest creation from well-known bondage model and artist Madison Young. It's a pretty new site, with 28 content sets so far and more being added all the time. The premise of the site is Madison switching, which she does with aplomb. If you've only seen her in the bottom role, well she's equally hot when she's topping another woman. Most of the action on the site is girl/girl, but there is an exception made once in awhile for James Mogul, of Nawashibari.com fame. Hmm, one wonders if a switch scene will ever be shot there? I know more than one person in the BDSM scene who'd pay to see that. [Disclaimer - James is an old friend of ours here at Jane's Guide.] Guest stars include Nina Hartley, Claire Adams, and quite a few others. Each set has both still images as well as zipped downloadable video clips. As with many of the better sites, these are sizeable downloads and if you queue up 2 or 3 chunks of a 4-part movie at a time, you may end up waiting a little bit. I noticed this on my cable modem. You will, of course, thoroughly enjoy what you've downloaded, as this is some of the best content out there. It's real, it's hot, and ... did I mention that it's hot?! I think this site is one helluva great deal for anyone who likes video smut. For one rebilled monthly charge you can download as much DVD smut as you want. They have a good sized library to start with - searchable by genre, studio, series title, actor or type of scene - and they promise several new DVDs [with 15-20 scenes] weekly. They don't have Digital Right Management so you can watch as often as you wish or burn to CD. Once you find the DVD you like you can download individual scenes off of it or download the entire DVD. Obviously, some of these can be lengthy downloads and this isn't a game for dial-up's to play. You can download MPG or DVX, and you can also stream directly through WMV. What a crazy and fun celebration here. I remember Haight-Ashbury in the 60's in fairly flamboyant colors, and this site is such a reminder of those days, those altruistic efforts, and with images similar to those days. This is the love project of Leona and Tommy from Norway, with their mission to have fun, celebrate sex, and save the rainforests. Tales of their direct action - as well as their resulting legal woes - bring credibility. They offer $12 of every $15 donated by membership fees to charities directly benefitting the forests. It's quite sad to hear of mainstream charities too prudish to accept their offerings. It isn't just a checkbook project - they have quite a bit of photography and journal entries from their trips to various rainforests. The international flavor of the site is reflected in the multiple language options it is available in. I reviewed this site several years ago in 2003, and raved about it like this: "This is the home site of the French adult director, John B. Root. I've spent a lot of time today getting reacquainted with John and his work and he has only improved from the high marks I gave him back in '03. There is all new design & navigation. His volume of work has more than doubled - 791 videos, 52,210 images and 263 models, as of the date of my re-review. Quality is superb - how many times have you downloaded a wanking movie and found it subtitled?! - and the organization and presentation is top notch. The videos are offered in a variety of downloadable forms including WMV, MPEG, DivX, QT, and iPod. Images can be viewed in galleries or downloaded in zipped form, and when you click on an image to open it you should be ready for exquisite detail and clarity and they seem nearly lifesize! I was reminded of the discussion recently about 'is HD going to be _too_ HD'? The detail here is so clear that you can see the minute mistakes a model might make with make-up [which in my mind makes them much more accessible and human, but for some it may be too much reality]. The content is searchable by model name, activity, still or video. What a delight to find DeLano's new site. I had the pleasure of reviewing his former site - "DeLano in Distress" - seven years ago, and there has been a conscious evolution in that time, subtly reflected in the change of site name. Although he and I haven't met, we share many common friends and acquaintences. DeLano is a beautiful black man who is one of the better known rope bondage bottoms in North America. He is also becoming better known as a rope bondage instructor, and what isn't as well known is that he is starting to do more and more rigging and bondage photography himself. In this nice little free site you not only have several years of archives of rope bondage photography [mostly of him being bound, but also some of his own rigging], but you also have insightful narrative paragraphs. Political discourses, commentary on issues of race [being a black bondage bottom leads to those questions, obviously], and quite a little bit of insight into his own growth and evolution as a person. It's a charming and wonderful site, obviously one from the heart, and one I heartily recommend. - Peter

The artist here is Richard Murrian, formerly the exclusive photographer of the well known MET-ART website. If you're familiar with his work there then you know that it is some of the highest quality and most exquisitely aesthetic fine-art nude photography around. In this site, where he is creative director, he has moved up a notch and totally abandons any batch processing or other mass production technique, chosing instead to spend a lot of time perfecting each individual shot of a much smaller number of shots. Quality over quantity is not a common trait in today's world, and in the case of the work presented on this site it is very worth the effort. In the tour for visitors he offers side by side comparison of the same photograph in the previous high quality and in the new extra high quality. The difference is obvious. New content is added twice a week. All content is offered in your choice of 800, 1200, or 2000 pixels, and is available in zipped download. Periodically he offers a technical page of tips for aspiring photographers. Each muse [model] has an introductory page inside including in many cases a video introduction where the muse discusses things about her modeling. Also included inside for members is a guest gallery of another photographer, which has similar production quality to Murrian's. Available only to members is the right to purchase a quarterly high quality glossy 8.5x11" soft-cover book of prints [I want one and you will too!]. Bella is marvelous, simply marvelous. She says, "I contribute to the porn industry because if a sexual revolution is to occur then change and honesty must be taught, learned and recognized. In conventional terms there is very little "hardcore" sex, but obviously conventional terms mean little here. It would take a full paragraph to list all the bent kinks she has collected here so far. The photography is done well, and the website is nicely organized with several different ways to search and access content. Kate, the statuesque brunette highlighted in this website is the sort of woman who was born to be painted on the nose of a WWII B-52. The archive rotates various content, so there are always several thousand photos at any given time. They have added a e-postcard option with 35 of her images available, and also downloadable wallpaper. Planned for the near future are a website store, galleries of monthly field trips to visit friends who have similar retro interests, and they also plan to add galleries of guest models. Right now they have a contest inviting other girls to send in their pictures in a given theme [currently it's Rockabilly Cowgirl] and surfers to vote on them. For folks with minimal web, photo, and modelling experience prior to this, and considering their site is only about six months old at time of review, this is really quite a well done and content filled site.

If you take a look at the BananaGuide and it feels familiar, it's not because they copied Janes Guide. They just assume a similar type of responsibility to their genre, which is gay erotica on the net. If you read through their coaching on AVSs, on avoiding being burned in pay sites, in many other areas [one of my favorites being 'why navigation sucks'], they take the same positive, common sense, pro-consumer approach that we try to do here at Janes Guide. They refuse to sell advertising, instead existing on click-throughs, commissions, etc. They also pledge to returning 10% of their profits to the Gay Community. Here's wishing them every success.

This site was last reviewed in 2003 and in the couple of years since they have done nothing but improve - they're well deserving of a fresh look. There is smut galore - all indie and tattooed and pierced and alterna and punk, all quite hot - but there is so much more than just wanking pictures. They visualize Burning Angel as the intersection of smut and rock and roll. They have movie reviews, music reviews, edgy interviews with their favorite bands, video game reviews, even reports from and about parties and events in NYC. One thing I found startling is that they haven't increased the membership fee, which was so cheap back in 2003 at ten bucks, despite the fact that they've grown to over 100 girls now. The galleries include solo action, girl/girl/ girl/boy/ and groups. Added since I last reviewed them is a long list of downloadable movies available in either WMV or QT, and suitable for either dial-up or broadband. They have a store where you can order their tshirts and a couple of DVDs. These folks really get me off, and I recommend you give them a try as well. Oh my goodness - it took a strong act of will to pull myself out from examining every single image and video clip here long enough to compose a review. Several years ago we gave them an excellent review, and it was certainly deserved now. Today it falls upon me to look back and see how they've done since December of 2000, and they've only gotten better. Visitors seen an extensive collection of very representative samples of the all original photography that is found extensively inside the member's area. The basic concept here is beautiful women in well executed and uncomfortable bondage, often with hardcore SM [clips, rubber, automatic fucking machines, etc]. The photography of good quality. At press time there are over 50 models represented, often in various combinations with each other, and the site is easily navigated to find what or who you may be looking for. They claim over 8000 images and I see no reason to doubt that. As well they have videos that can be downloaded via zipfile and played in RealPlayer format. I downloaded a few to sample, and they were quite well done. The ropework in the content here, by the way, is of as high quality as the models, costumes, settings, and the rest. I'll quote from the original review of 12/00 and simply reinforce it - "If anything in the preview turns your crank the members area will not disappoint you." Highly recommended.

This free site is the online home of Dixie Evans and the Exotic World Movers and Shakers' Burlesque Museum and Striptease Hall of Fame. The actual museum is in California between LA and Vegas. On the site here you can get directions and a lot of information about the events they hold at the museum, and as well you can shop online for momentos of Blaze Starr, Tempest Storm, Dixie Evans, and other stars of burlesque.
