There is a neat tutorials section that takes you step-by-step through several small projects, and it has photographs that illustrate each step. In addition to this teaching material, he offers a small store with supplies. You'll find centermarked rope, practical rope combo packs, rope based toys (like ball gags and rope shaped candles), and even the nifty rescue hook (a GREAT alternative/addition to EMT scissors). His tone is extremely likable, and you get a real feel for his personality by reading his journal. This is a one stop shopping center when it comes to BDSM knowledge. You'll find tons of essays, fiction, art, resource lists, quotes, and more. They have a really nice section called "Living Large" which is about size acceptance in bdsm. They have another section that specializes in Christian BDSM (a sometimes difficult-to-find topic of discussion). There is an advice column. Symbols of the subculture are explained, directories of BDSM bloggers are available, and this is still just the tip of the iceberg! I was exhausted just going through what they've managed to put together, so I can't imagine how hard it was to gather it all and put it in such logical order. Good job! This explicit BDSM site has been around for a few years and we did review them positively in the past. If you like a strictly defined master/slave sexual environment, this place is for you. Visitors see lots of samples of the content inside, in thumbnail size. Members have access to the rules and personal specifications of the various folks involved in this homegrown site. The women are self-identified slaves, and are generally not only found naked but in assigned positions, following agreed upon protocols. You'll often find them presenting their rosebud for use, in what I found here, by the way. There are still images and quite a few downloadable RM videos. There was actually more sexual content here than SM, although always within the context of DS, if you follow my acronyms. This BDSM resource center has a handful of erotic stories, dozens upon dozens of poems, a collection of well known essays, a discussion board, and local scene info. My favorite part of it is on polyamory, however. In addition to the standard educational links you'll find the real jewel of this site. The site owners have written a journal called "A Year in Polyamory" that chronicles the first year of their search for a third member of their family. That is a very valuable and unique window into the world of poly that you just can't get from educational essays on the topic. I have to preface this review by saying that I have not seen the DVD, the review is for the website and the info it presents. That said, the entire site here is about a documentary DVD produced in my area, about BDSM. The who's who in terms of participants in the film is impressive, with longtime activists and speakers such as Viola Johnson and Dr. Gloria Brame, as well as many Vancouver BC and Seattle people who have a longterm involvement in the more organized S/M community. You'll find cast and crew info and photos on the site, as well as a good overview of what is covered in the production. They sell the DVD, as well as a CD of some of the music used in the production. The DVD is $29.95, the CD is $19.95, both are available via online ordering (although no secure processing is offered.)

Atomage Leather Couture Company was around from the 1950's through the late 1980's, during which time they published various fetish magazines. This site is a sort of archive of that work, with the business having given them permission to publish online some of the articles, dozens and dozens of magazine covers and photos, etc. The main gist of this is leather and rubber fetishwear, and a good deal of bondage. I did notice that while some of the leather fashions are very definitely '70s in style, when it comes to bondage and rubber there isn't much to distinguish it from current day. This site has links that take you to a whole host of other materials, but author Franklin Veaux specifically wanted to highlight the BDSM section. It is a non-nonsense beginners guide to BDSM. It includes some answers to basic questions, a list of resources, safety tips, ideas, a glossary, and more. My favorite section was actually about BDSM folks he could do without. The Australian beauty Chanta Rose has contributed to some of the most infamous bondage sites on the web including meninpain.com, wiredpussy.com, waterbondage.com, hogtied.com, and whippedass.com. Her bondage rigging is creative and inspiring, and she is finally offering classes in her technique. This website lists those classes (most of which involve bondage and/or electro sex), complete with contact info and cost. If you don't have a partner, she says that she can hook you up with local bondage models who can help you learn (for an extra fee, of course). She is available for teaching, rigging and modeling in a Dominant role. The site offers a mailing list and a blog. You can see gorgeous samples of her rigging, modeling, and classes on the site. She will soon be offering her new book through the site as well. Definitely go take a look, especially if you are from the San Francisco area and enjoy bondage.

You may be familiar with the infamous sex club Power Exchange in San Francisco , California. Well, this is the web gathering spot for that very same club! Although there is some basic information about how to get there and the different areas that you can enter (a mixed pansexual space, a couples & women space, and an all male space), the main thrust of the site is the personals area which is open to locals and non-locals as well. I was given a chance to evaluate the "Gold Membership", but there is a free version that just lets you take a look around and do some basic things on the site to see if you like it. With the Gold Membership you get unlimited access to all the features such as chat, forums, member pics, around 17 original photo galleries, and about 6 original video productions featuring the space. What I like about this site is that it gives people a place to meet online for quiet and less pressured interaction, and then also offers a real life safe and public place to meet up and fulfill your interests. I'm not aware of another place doing the same thing.

This is a not unreasonable web site for people exploring an interest in BDSM. I have some issues with the authors’ insistence that their rules and definitions are the only acceptable ones, but overall they give fairly standard guidelines and advice. The forum is a good place for folks to swap information and discuss their feelings. That might be the most valuable section for a new person within the scene! The erotic fiction section is more predictable than hot, though the blog section has some hot moments! Be aware that the links to “free� videos will take you to other web sites, with differing definitions of the word “free,� often that include spending money. There is also a link to a small chat room – there were only two other people in there when I tried it, but they were quite happy to chat with me! It was only mildly off-putting that the first comment addressed to me was “how big are your tits?� I mean the first. Before “hello.� Leaving the chat room, there is a fairly extensive links section, including free online postcards, links to online stores, and links to other information sites. I can’t say anything really bad about this site – there is some original content, and the information, while aimed at a very specific segment of the community, is stuff that people making a transition from online to real life BDSM experiences would do well to read.

3xL is a latex fetishist from Copenhagen who has put together a really well organized and informative webzine covering latex fetishism, fashion, news, and culture. There are also a nice selection of articles written from a place of personal experience such as "Help, my partner has a fetish" and "To tell... or not to tell". You can see quite a few free picture galleries here, but they do require a password (that is free to folks that register with the site). If you follow the movie link you'll find pay-per-minute, downloadable, and streaming latex fetishist rentals. kikkou.com is a legend amongst lovers of Japanese Rope Bondage! It was unavailable for a time due to changes in Japanese porn laws, but it is back now! It is simply THE source for inspiration, breathtaking visuals, and online study for those who have a real love for the artform. Well known figures such as Sikou Sima and Randa Mai illustrate how to create beautiful bondage masterpieces through words and photo illustrations. Aside from the elaborate how-to section, there is also a beautiful JPG Gallery. In it you'll find thousands of the best bondage pictures of Japanese women in bondage you've ever seen, period. Speaking of art, there is an Art Gallery featuring some of the most amazing artists that concentrate their inspiration into bondage themed images. This informational site is from the folks at Rupert Huse and Sons, manufacturers of violet wands specifically designed for use in S/M play. Much technical information is offered concerning how wands work and the varieties of extensions and options available. There is a reproduction of an antique manual [when you read it you'll see why it's there for 'informational' purposes only]. In addition to explaining such things as tesla coils, magnetic flux, and wagners hammer, this site offers more advanced information on fire play and branding. The technical info and advanced info is good, but I did notice an omission of the in between information - the basic cautions, uses and misuses of the violet wand by the new player. This fun little free site looks like it'll be worth revisiting from time to time. DeLano is a tall good looking gentleman who respects and worships Bettie Page, Simone Devon, and Mistress Stephanie Locke, and considers their form of thoroughly-enjoying-themselves bondage to be an art form as well as an eroticism. His plan is to do his best to emulate their out-of-the-dungeon ordinary life setting style of aesthetic bondage, with himself as the person bound. What we reviewed included both photography and fiction. He has a couple of Pro Dommes who assist him (tying oneself up is not that easy), and it looks like he plans monthly updates. As he told us, the site still has a few kinks (har har) in it to work out, but nothing that interferes with viewing it.
