Take a moment and imagine a leather Facebook or Myspace, and then imagine it being run by and for kinky folks. That is exactly what Fetlife is! It is the coolest new community site out there for pervs, and it is absolutely 100% free. I had been hearing the buzz about this new spot on the web from a few of my lifestyle friends, and I finally decided to go set up an account and take a look myself. Many years ago I had been on other sites that promised community and allowed free communication, but since those sites have sold to other companies their soul has left the building and communication costs money. It is also communication that is no longer under the nurturing ownership of perverts with a personal interest in our tribe. I'd lost interest, and so had most of my friends. I was hoping that this site could be some of what I was missing on the old ones. Wow, I wasn't disappointed! I immediately ran into some of my old friends, and then ran off to recruit new ones. It is easy to sign up. Once you have, then you set up a profile. You can add pics to it, and you'll never run into that "you have to have such and such membership" to view pics or show them to others. There are social groups here with ongoing forum conversations, so you can sign up for topics that interest you (or create your own groups). There is a mail system that acts like a personal bulletin board for private conversations, so you don't lose track of what has been said to anyone. You can post writing, see what your friends are doing, and a lot more. A lot of talented pervs are posting writing and engaging in conversation here. I've met a lot of new friends. There is a small amount of advertising, but it is done really tastefully and never gets in the way. You can write to the folks that run the site, and they will actually write you back. I've been in love with this place and raving about it for the last several weeks. This is one of the few sites that didn't ask for review. I sought out the owner and asked him if I could post one. This is an annual award given to men and women involved in bondage porn. Categories include model, rigger, writer, free site, comic artist, and a lot more. The winners are folks who receive the most votes in their category, and the FAQ goes into how such votes are collected and dealt with. I notice that many of the first place winners in the contest this year were Vamp's Picks in the past. Congrats to House of Gord and the Luvbights! This website's main focus in on self-bondage. It uses a wiki based database to organize bondage information including safety, general toys, personal introductions of members, nature based toys, stories, and personal experiences. Membership is free, and after you become a registered user you can submit info to the site. The content is a bit on the light side right now, but I'm sure it will grow with time. On a personal note, I highly recommend that anyone considering solo bondage do extensive research beyond this site before attempting it. I once found myself in solo bondage tied to a bookcase during a power outage, and it was a very good thing that I had a nearby flashlight and some bandage scissors to get myself out of the situation. Proper safety procedures can make a potentially deadly situation into nothing more than a funny anecdote. - Vamp

We used to get a lot more of these types of sites, and I miss them. This is one of those home grown personal websites that used to rule the web, before the blog explosion. It is written by Seeker's breath{MS}, and you can tell that she found the graphics and designed the place herself. It is full of articles she has written, resources she values, and a lot of personal opinion about D/s relationships. There are links to a myspace page and blog as well. In her mission statement she says, "Please, do not confuse BDSM with D/s. Even though D/s is a part of the three facets in BDSM it is not a fetish, it is a natural way of life." Her approach is very romantic, and she discusses ideas as diverse as the concept of a soul mate and meditation. I really love this sort of thing, even when I have a different take on some of it at times. This is when the web shines for me, when someone taps out their thoughts on a home computer and places a bit of themselves on the internet. That is what I was doing when Jane found me! Chastity-UK is a site dedicated solely to providing information about male and female chastity. Online since 2001, they have compiled articles about the history of chastity, what chastity is, introducing your partner to chastity, as well as chastity device reviews and photo contributions from site visitors. The site is also completely non-commercial, which is a rarity these days. Anyone with an interest in chastity play will enjoy this site. The Disciplinarian is a professional spanker of ladies; he's only willing to work with women or with couples (I'm assuming only hetero or lesbian). He operates in the UK and can be called upon to administer spankings whether you need them as punishment, stress relief, or to get off (though no sex is involved in his services). On his site, The Disciplinarian explains in great detail how one may contact him for a spanking and how things will proceed if you decide to contract his services (e.g. during the session you would have your dress lifted and your tights pulled down, but would always keep your panties on, etc). He also explains spanking in great detail, going over the sweet spot, different techniques, and different tools. Collared and Cuffed is a great beginner's guide to the world of BDSM. Our host takes us through a variety of topics including: BDSM 101 (which covers things like how to pick a safe good word), what kinds of toys are commonly used, what to wear to a BDSM club or event, tips for being a Dom, etc. The site also features a page where questions can be asked to either a male or a female dom. Of course, few sites are perfect and this one does have it's share of coding/spelling/grammar errors (including a chat-room that doesn't seem to load), but with a little more polish, this could be a really phenomenal site for those looking to learn more about BDSM. - Shay

This version of the LondonFetishScene (LFS) Wipipedia was started in 2005 and currently boasts over a thousand articles. The site is fairly similar to Wikipdea in design, which makes it very easy to use. To test it out, I jumped to a random page: rubber fetishism, and cross checked the info there with Wikipedia to check for similarities - I found the page on Wipi went into much more detail, as I'd hoped. Wipideia is just as addictive as it's slightly more vanilla conterpart; in fact, my only problem with the site is with it's use of white text on a black background, which makes Wipidia difficult to look at for extended periods of time (that is, for as long as I'd like to explore the pages). - Shay

Within reality is a collection of personal writing from Michael and danae about their experiences as a lifestyle bdsm couple. They offer a number of well written articles on subjects such as Risk Aware Consensual Kink, online vs real life play, 24/7 lifestyles, and a variety of other topics. I've been involved in the kink lifestyle for over 15 years, and I found their articles well thought out with a really strong ethical basis. In addition to their articles they provide some personal information about themselves as well as links to their personal blogs. They also have links to external BDSM lifestyle resource sites and kinky online stores. It's a really well done site that gives a great personal view of BDSM. Highly recommended.

Wow! I love this site! PPUnleashed is a membership based blog website that documents the Pretty Pervy Latex clothing line founder's, PPRobert's and PPHilary's, 24/7 latex lifestyle. PPRobert is the creator of the latex outfits featured on the site and PPHilary is the site designer, model, and "general organizer of Grumpy Old Git PPRobert". Much of their blog is devoted to talking about the design and creation of new latex oufits, but they also get personal. The site features photo and movie galleries of PPRobert's creations, such as the inflatable full enclosure latex frog suit, the Hornet Alien full enclosure suit, and the mermaid tail. The full enclosure suits are absolutely amazing! I particularly enjoyed some of the behind the scenes movies showing how they actually put the latex suits on. Up until now I've never had the urge to wear latex, I've been a leather man, but this site has given me the urge to try some on! There are two membership levels available, a free membership which gives viewers access to all blog entries and selected movies and galleries, and a paid membership which gives unlimited access to all material on the site. The site is fully interactive and member comments and suggestions are encouraged and used to create new content. I'm really impressed with the site design and the sheer volume of content that has been added since the site went live 3 months ago. If you aren't familiar with it, the important thing to understand is that you can download audio files of "radio shows" and play them on your home computer or mp3 player. The stars of this online blog and podcast are Atticus and Nova, an adorable and sensual couple that explore sexual themes in an erotic, intelligent, and informative manner. They cover topics as wide ranging as splosh play and vac beds, but they also define terms as simple as "squick". I really liked these two and found their broadcast completely charming. The site owner also has links to her blog. There seems to be a pretty friendly crowd here, and I love certain aspects of the site (like the "fact or fiction" section of the forums). Wikipedia style adult sites seem to be the new black this season, so there is a plethora of similar pages trying to do the same thing. This site discusses erotic rope bondage influenced by Japanese methods. The site owner runs workshops on this topic over in the UK, and you can find his class schedule and information on this site. Aside from that, you'll find some very nice writing on the topic of choosing and caring for rope, why people enjoy bondage, safety info, and more. In the safety section, be aware that some of the info after "where not to tie" may be invisible to your browser. So, be sure to highlight that area to see the text if you cannot see it otherwise. There is some good information down there! For those looking for pretty pics and videos, you'll enjoy the free gallery section that you can view by registering for a username and password. You'll see some familiar locations (like Torture Garden) and familiar people (like KumiMonster). If you are looking for a good place to buy jute, this site offers it and high quality karabiners. The items are described well, but I always advise caution about purchasing through paypal. Paypal has burnt many an adult site owner and buyer. There are links to outside shops too. Bondage.com has been online for almost a decade now, starting from their origins as a labor of love produced by a couple of self-described web geeks from San Francisco. There is a good deal here that is free, starting with the highly active discussion forums and personals ads. You can post, browse, read, get email and so on all for free and it's a wonderful resource for that. If you upgrade to a paid membership (which we suggest if you use the site frequently, not unlike supporting public radio if you use it) you get a plethora of other features, like the personal ad matchmaker service, the huge photo archive (74,000+ images), video, and their library of BDSM articles and resources. All in all, a fabulous community site that we can't recommend highly enough.

Tulip is an outgrowth of research that began at the University of Chicago, Graduate School of Business, which has grown to two brick-n-mortar shops in the Chicago area in addition to this web-based shop. A woman-owned company, they aim to appeal to both men and women with an upscale, common sense, and user-friendly presentation. This is a community based website that comes with chat rooms, forums, member photos, articles and a whole lot more. The site is geared towards those involved in BDSM lifestyle and the GLBT community. In order to access most of the features of the website you will need to register as a member. The bonus is that the membership is free and relatively painless. The website has just undergone a re-work from what I can tell, thus, there isn’t a ton of reading material at this point. The website design is pretty slick and easy to navigate through. This is a thoroughly charming and very real romantic site that explores the relationship of a D/s couple. What I really like about it is that it isn't preachy, and it wasn't set up to be an information site. It basically came about because the submissive was learning HTML and it seemed like putting her poetry together in the new format she was learning just made a lot of sense. After she was done, her Master encouraged her to put it up on the web. The result? A page full of erotic D/s themed stories, dragon fantasy world erotica, pony tales, and more. The site is very poem heavy, including the (very good and very honest) section called "Our Story". I really recommend this part of the site to people, because it takes on some of the very raw emotions that are often a part of life and little spoken about. They tell the story of meeting in their forties, each of them in unhappy marriages with multiple issues. They talk about the internal moral struggle that they had about the relationship that bloomed between them, and how awful it felt to know how it would impact each of their families. They discuss step parenting, nasty divorces, and six years of learning to grow together as a couple. The section is short, but very poignant. It is often told in the third person, which is rather unusual, but interesting. I find myself wanting to quote all sorts of things from the site, but it is probably better if you go take a look yourself. In addition to what I've mentioned you'll also find some free D/s themed cards (for printing out) and essays about such topics as switching, ponyplay, mummification, canes, wax play, and bondage. There is also a very funny humorous poetry section that made me giggle. A site with a lot of personality that was obviously forged out of the yearning to communicate honestly and passionately. - Vamp

Steff is a confident woman that approaches sexuality in a pragmatic and mature fashion, but doesn't let that lead to a lot of stuffy language. Some of the most worthwhile advice I've ever seen about being a good lover is here, "Being a good lover is: A) Knowing what you like, dislike, and love. B) Knowing how to express your needs.
